2016-06-17-philippines3The 2016 Aglow Philippines Generations Gathering brought more than a hundred believers from Negros Oriental and Siquijor. It was a time of corporate worship, fellowship and capturing the vision of the Generations group as a whole. It was also a time to have fun, make new friends, and see a new generation rise up for “such a time as this”.

The theme “AS ONE: FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS” became a sounding alarm for many of the delegates. Young people and professionals were challenged by what the speakers shared during the event. Dana Calit shared her experiences growing up and becoming a marketplace minister. She shared on the life of Esther rising up for such a time to become the voice for her generation. Hannah Walter, a Generations leader from Australia also shared on how her experiences brought her to the Philippines as a church planting volunteer. They both shared timely messages to equip and encourage the group to move forward as one in this season.

The Generations leaders shared in the divided sessions through creative arts, worship fundamentals, campus ministering, and reaching out through the media and leadership. The group also took time to pray for the nation of Israel and see what God is doing in the Arab world through a video message from Aglow's 2015 Global Conference in the United States.

2016-06-17-philippines2Participants reached out to the community by doing street evangelism and an outdoor concert crusade as part of the event. Young and old lined up for prayers, all of them with a child-like faith raising their hands to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The delegates had the opportunity to share their testimonies and talents as the crowd gathered during the night crusade at Mercado De Bais.

The event culminated with a banquet for all the participants for the three day event, sharing testimonies and challenges on how they can help grow the movement in their own communities. It was also a good opportunity to get to know the emerging Generations leaders, praying with them and challenging them to move forward in unity. Pastors Lemuel and Tessie Felicio blessed the group by praying for the leaders, the delegates, and this generation to capture the vision of Aglow and move forward for Christ's greater glory.

Plans are in place to go to the Island of Siquijor to challenge the youth leaders and start up a Generations group there. A two-day seminar is also being planned with other Aglow partners in Siquijor, Bacolod, Laguna and Davao.
